Bath Tub Times
Dec. 2nd, 2012 11:47 pmAfter filling the tub with hot water, getting the pitcher of water re-filled and set beside the bathtub with a glass on a stool, and gratefully taking note that there weren't any people presently guarding the hallway, Jack helped Lacie out of the bedroom, down the hall, and into the bathroom. As soon as they arrived, however, he left her to her own devices so that he could find towels. There was only one, so he'd need to go bother Xerxes for another if possible. He'd be back shortly, but until then, Lacie would be left alone.

Out and About
Oct. 23rd, 2012 11:47 pmJack had successfully found the home that Lacie, her brother, perhaps a small Gilbert, and maybe a few of the black-winged chains were living in. It seemed small, for nobility's standards, to live in a house of this size with so many people. It didn't matter much to him.
He was nervous though, even though he did well to hide it. He'd see Glen after all this time and through everything he had only come to the conclusion that Glen deserved an apology for the night at the opera. Jack had yet to forgive Glen for casting Lacie into the Abyss though. Jack had promised to send words of praise to Glen for little Gilbert's generosity which was another reason he was here, but other than those two reasons, all that was left was, 'If this is what Lacie wants, I'll do it.' Lacie wanted them to get along, so he'd attempt it. Lying was easy so even if everyone in the room knew he was, it was still 'getting along', right?
He very much wanted to see where Lacie lived most of the time, though. It was important to know as was the rest of the city. So, when Jack arrived late afternoon at their doorstep, he was expecting a tour of the city.

A Cool Winter's Beach
Oct. 23rd, 2012 11:43 pmJack had made the trek all the way to the supposed beach he was to meet Lacie and Alyss at on the day he had scheduled with Alyss. It was a cool day, but not so cold that everyone would rather be inside. Whatever kind of beach it was, the water didn't smell like saltwater.
He laid out the blanket for the picnic. He had-Well, correction- the magic of the mansion had prepared quite a feast for the little picnic all of finger food. Fruits, cheeses, finger sandwiches, cookies, and even truffles. He wondered if Alyss had ever had a chocolate truffle before. Seeing as how the mansion had left an entire box of them on the counter, Jack took the whole thing. Most little girls, besides Alice and her obsession with meat, liked sweets, right?
While he began to pull things out of the basket as he waited for the other two to arrive he sang softly, words carried away on the wind. He was feeling much better.
"Gentle waves upon the deep,
Murmur soft when thou dost sleep,
Little birds upon the tree,
Sing their sweetest songs for thee,
their sweetest songs for thee.
Cooling gales with voices low,
In the tree tops gently blow,
When thou dost in slumbers lie,
All things love thee, so do I,
When thou dost in slumbers lie,
All things love thee, so do I,
All things love thee,
All things love thee,
All things love thee, so do I."

Welcome to your new life.
Sep. 15th, 2012 11:18 pm Jack had woken up nearly a day later to a head-splitting headache. Forgetting where he was, he moaned in annoyance and pressed his head deeply into the pillows on the bed. It hurt terribly, and when he tried to recall why, nothing clear was coming to him.
He had been with Oz, and then he had gone to the opera, and then he-
He had met Glen and Lacie. Lacie.
What had happened then?
He kept his head deep in the pillows, hiding his face so that he could barely breathe and let himself cry. It was soft and brief, but needed. It had little to do with the the pain, but had everything to do with the glimpses of the past events that he could remember. Glen was hurt. Lacie had gotten angry. She had cried. It only lasted a few minutes, because Jack was more getting more frustrated now. He couldn't remember everything, only small details. Had all of that really happened?
He didn't move and kept his face hidden away in the pillow. It was unfamiliar. The pillow. The smell. Smelling. Breathing. Being alive again in this body.
It felt like coming home in a way. Home was where ever Lacie was. No, paradise was where ever Lacie was.
